Love manifested
Love in action
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:6-7
Jésus-Christ:
Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Gen 49:8-10 | Jesus' lineage through the tribe of Judah, so he is the heir to the throne of King David. Matt 1:1-17 Matt 2:1 Luke 1:30-33 |
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. Number 24:17 | A star will be born of Judah. Matt 2:1,2 |
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Dan 9:24-25
... I have appointed thee each day for a year.
Eze 4: 6

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt Hosea 11:1 | Jesus' parents fled to Egypt to escape King Herod's death warrant. God called him out of Egypt. Matt 2:14,15 |
« Son nom sera appelé Emmanuel, . . . Dieu avec nous. » La lumière de la connaissance de la gloire de Dieu est vu « dans le visage de Jésus-Christ. » Depuis les jours de l’éternité le Seigneur Jésus-Christ était un avec le Père; Il était «l’image de Dieu», l’image de sa grandeur et de sa majesté, « le resplendissement de sa gloire. » C’était pour manifester cette gloire qu’il vient dans notre monde. Pour cette terre assombri par le péché il est venu pour révéler à la lumière de l’amour de Dieu, – d’être » Dieu avec nous. » Par conséquent, il a été prophétisé de lui, « Son nom sera appelé Emmanuel. » {JC p8}

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. Malachi 4:5,6 | Elie précède Jésus. Matt 11:13,14 |
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Isa 40:3-5 | A messenger would prepare the way for the Messiah. John 1:29-33 Luke 1:13-17 Luke 3:3-6 |

Christ est venu comme le révélateur des prophéties que lui-même avait donné à son peuple à travers les saints hommes d’autrefois. Il a séparé les préceptes de l’Eternel à partir des maximes et des traditions des hommes. Il a enseigné au peuple que les Dix Commandements sont une expression de la vérité dans toute sa pureté. Aux dirigeants et enseignants du peuple, il a déclaré: «En vain qu’ils m’honorent, en enseignant des préceptes qui sont des commandements d’hommes. » Et pour ces enseignants Il a dit: Mark 7 :13 «Anéantissant la parole de Dieu par votre tradition, que vous avez établie ; et vous faites beaucoup d’autres choses semblables. » Matthieu 22 :29 «Vous êtes dans l’erreur, parce que vous n’entendez pas les Écritures, ni quelle est la puissance de Dieu. » {ST, le 14 mai 1902 par.8}

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. Isa 61:1-3 | The Messiah will come and heal the brokenhearted. Luke 4:16-21 |
I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. Psalms 69:8 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Isa 53:3 | Jesus was rejected by his people. Matt 13:57 John 1:11 |
I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. Psalms 78:2-4 | The Messiah will speak in parables. Matt 13:10-15, 34, 35. |
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. Psalms 8:2 | The Messiah will be praised by children. Matt 21:16 |
Christ came to the world to bring back the character of God to man, and to retrace on the human soul the divine image. Through his entire life, Christ sought by continuous, laborious efforts to call the world's attention to God and to his holy requirements, so that men might be imbued with the Spirit of God, might be actuated by love, and might reveal in life and character the divine attributes. Christ came to be the light and life of the world, and his life was one of continual self-denial and self-sacrifice. The Lord Jesus valued every human being, and could not endure the thought that one soul should perish. His great heart of love embraced the whole world, and led him to provide complete salvation for all who would believe in him. In the character of Christ, majesty and humility were blended. Temperance and self-denial were seen in every act of his life, but there was no taint of bigotry, no cold austerity, manifested in his manner to lessen his influence over those with whom he came in contact.
The world's Redeemer had a greater than angelic nature; yet united with his divine majesty were meekness and humility that attracted all to himself. He speaks to all, saying, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." - RH April 14, 1896, par. 2

For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. Psalms 55:12-13 | Betrayal by his friend. Matt 26:47-50 |
And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD. Zacharie 11:12-13 | Prediction on the exact amount of his friend's betrayal. Matt 27:3-9 |
False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not. Psalms 35:11 | They will lie about him. Mark 14:57-58 |
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. John 1:29 Acts 8:32-35 Matt 27:14 |
I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. Isa 50:6 | Il se fait très mal traité. Matt 26:67 |

Christ est venu pour donner de la puissance morale à l’homme; à l’élever, l’ennoblir et le fortifier. Il est venu prouver la fausseté de l’accusation de Satan, que Dieu avait fait une loi que l’homme ne pouvait pas suivre. Tout en possédant la nature de l’homme, le Christ a gardé les Dix Commandements. Ainsi, Il a prouvé aux habitants des mondes non déchus et aux êtres humains qu’il est possible pour l’homme d’obéir parfaitement à la loi. Il justifia la justice de Dieu pour exiger l’obéissance à Sa loi. Ceux qui acceptent Christ comme leur Sauveur, deviennent participants de la nature divine, et sont en mesure de suivre son exemple d’obéissance à tous les préceptes divin. {ST, le 14 mai 1902 par.7}

Now, what does history tell us?
In the period of the birth of the Messiah, we discover several pieces of information outside of the biblical prophecies. We read in the chapter of Luke 2, the name of Caesar Augustus who made an edict for the enumeration of the whole earth. Also, in this chapter we read the name of Quirinius who was the governor of Syria. Furthermore, in Matthew 2 we read that Herod was the king of Judea and that at his death Archelaus régna a sa place.

Donc il eut d’autres fils portant son nom avec un second nom: – Herod Archelaus or Archelaus who ruled after his death. – Herod Antipas (Matt 14:1; Luke 3:19) the tetrarch who beheaded John the Baptist, in whose time the Lord was also crucified; – Herod Philip, à qui sa première femme Hérodias enfanta une fille nommé Salomé (celle-ci qui dansa); – Herod Agrippa was the grandson of Herod (the Great), and it was he who beheaded James the son of Zebedee. It was to him that the crowd shouted, "This is the voice of God and not of a man", and he was punished on the spot. | https://www.livescience.com/64962-king-herod.html https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antipater_(fils_d%27Hérode_Ier_le_Grand) https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hérode_Archélaos The Souda Byzantine Encyclopedia: https://www.cs.uky.edu/~raphael/sol/sol-html/ http://www.historel.net/flavius/herode6.htm |

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matt 3:17
And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Mark 9:7
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
John 12:28
»- Review and Herald, le 9 Mars, 1897.
